Yuchai Hydrogen-fueled Engine Scales New Highs, Leading the Green Energy Transition

 
Exposition on China Brand is the only national brand expo. This year, a new "Innovation 100+" exhibition area was added to the offline exhibition, which features a centralized display of over 100 innovative products recommended by local governments and China's centrally administered SOEs that lead in their respective industries. YCK05H hydrogen-fueled engine, by virtue of its low-carbon and intelligent technical advantages, scales new highs and is the only brand development achievement of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" of the industry in the exhibition area.

 
Currently, application of hydrogen energy has become an important way to peak carbon dioxide emissions and gradually achieve carbon neutrality for its inherent advantage of zero carbon emission. To cope with the bottlenecks in technologies and costs, hydrogen-fueled engines are developed, providing new zero-carbon solutions for commercial vehicles, construction machinery and other applications. Yuchai YCK05H hydrogen-fueled engine is China's first hydrogen-fueled engine for city buses, utilities, sanitation, and logistics distribution fields, marking the beginning of the research and development of hydrogen-fueled engines for commercial vehicles in China.

 
Several advanced technologies such as high-pressure multi-point intake injection, high-efficiency low-inertia turbocharged, and high-efficiency lean combustion are adopted for Yuchai YCK05H hydrogen-fueled engine, overcoming technical problems such as backfire and knocking of hydrogen-fueled engines. The use of low-cost grey hydrogen as fuel greatly reduces the utilization cost of hydrogen energy. The engine has a maximum power of 125 kW and thermal efficiency leading in China.

 
This year, Yuchai's independent intelligent controller technology will also be adopted for hydrogen-fueled engines. The technical research will be applied to the complete vehicle from the laboratory, and the adaptive development of complex application scenarios will be carried out to ensure mass production of hydrogen-fueled engines as soon as possible.
